2020 Riesling Herrgottspfad dry (older vintages available on request)

Our single-site wines represent the top of the winery. They are only pressed from the best fully ripe grapes from these vineyards with the greatest effort and the lowest yields. The location is completely south-facing and has the shape of an amphitheater. It is strongly protected from the wind and it gets really hot here in summer.

The wine:
The wine is hard to beat in terms of elegance, shines with its salty, spicy minerality, is complex and densely woven. The wood flatters and is well integrated, the fruit acid is almost Burgundy for a Riesling, which must be due to this warm location. The wine calls for a large glass and a lot of air, and usually only becomes really big after six months on the bottle.

Origin:
Rheinhessen | Gau-Odernheim | Petersberg | Herrgottspfad

Grape variety:
100 % Riesling

Viticulture: 100 % wood
Only the best grapes are meticulously selected by hand and, after being gently processed, remain in contact with their own juice for at least 24 hours. In this way, the fine aromas and minerals can be released from the shell. Fermentation takes place spontaneously and unadorned in the piece barrel. The yeast is stirred until spring. The wine matures on the lees until the end of August and is filled with just one gentle filtration.
